CHANEL IMAN
Iman was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up in Culver City, California and attended Fairfax High School in Los Angeles;[4] she has not yet attended college.[5] Iman is of multiracial origins; her father is African American and her mother is of Korean and African American descent.

Iman took part and won third place in Ford Model's Supermodel of the World 2006, and ended up signing with the agency[6]. Iman walked down the runway for the first time in the Fall/Winter 2006 season[2] for high-end brands like Custo Barcelona and DKNY; since then she has modelled for many top designers, including Dolce & Gabbana, Issey Miyake, Marc Jacobs, Valentino,Dsquared, Hermès, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Anna Sui, Diane von Fürstenberg, Vera Wang, Jean Paul Gaultier and Stella McCartney. In her short career, she has appeared in advertising campaigns for Bottega Veneta, GAP, Victoria's Secret Pink, and United Colors of Benetton.

She appeared with models Du Juan and Coco Rocha in the Spring 2007 issue of TIME Style&Design. In the May 2007 issue of US Vogue she was featured on the cover with fellow models Doutzen Kroes, Caroline Trentini, Raquel Zimmermann, Sasha Pivovarova, Agyness Deyn, Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, Hilary Rhoda, and Lily Donaldson as the new crop of supermodels.[7] Chanel also appeared on the cover of Teen Vogue alongside fellow American teenage models Ali Michael and Karlie Kloss in 2008.[8] In the Teen Vogue February 2009 issue, Chanel announced her wishes to design, "I want to do different things in my life, not just modeling. I would love to design for a big fashion house, like Pharrell did for Louis Vuitton. Stop giving all the opportunities to celebrities! I'm in the fashion industry, I have some great ideas, and I'd like to share them."[9] Chanel also has worked a bit in the music scene. "I've been spending time in recording studios, helping rappers with their lines."[9]

In October 2007, Chanel appeared with her mother on an episode of the Tyra Banks Show.

In January 2009, Chanel appeared on the cover of New York Post's Page Six Magazine[10]

On March 21, 2009, she appeared as a correspondent in MTV's brief revival of House of Style with Bar Refaeli.[11][12]

On September 10, 2009, Chanel appeared on an episode of America's Next Top Model, Cycle 13 as a guest judge. Chanel is also close friends with Cycle 6 winner Dani Evans.

At Milan Fashion Week Spring 2010 (held in September 2009) Chanel was in high demand and booked 9 shows, including big names like Gucci, Versace, and Dolce & Gabbana,[13] Her frequent appearance on the catwalks was part of what some called a resurgence of black models featured in Italian shows.[14]
